This institution is under the JPE educational agency. Now the manager of this institution is Mr.E.D.Thomas.JPEHSS & JPE Training College are in the same campus. The land area is 19,951 sq.m. and build up area is 1,557 sq.m.

It was named initially as JPE basic training school. Later it came to be known as JPE Teachers Training Institute, Koorkenchery.Now the course is revised and renamed as D.El.Ed., which is approved all other states in India.
